Who I am. What I do.

I’m Cincinnati based audio engineer, podcast producer, content creator, musician and more Josh Elstro. In my past 15 years of professional audio engineering I've found myself doing a lot in professional production: recording, mixing, and mastering. For most, the list stops there.

My experience continues on: Instructing, performing, live sound, remote recording, promo production, designing and constructing studios, and more.

I spent 5 years as Audio Production and Recording Engineer for a local NPR affiliate and classical radio station. In that role I acted as Technical Director for over 1000 episodes of Cincinnati Edition, an award winning daily live news show. I produced 100s more story segments, podcasts, radio shows, and live music performances in our multi-track studio and remotely. I currently work full-time as a freelance multimedia and content producer, editor, and consultant with a focus on podcasts and other audio content.

My work in public radio and podcast production has entrusted me to do recording sessions as well as audio post production for interviews with several top government officials, media professionals, and internationally acclaimed artists on a regular basis. This includes Senators Bernie Sanders, Sherrod Brown, and Mitch McConnell, Governors Andy Beshear and Mike DeWine (as well as several other former Ohio governors), and many more.

The first decade of my career was spent as Program Director and founding staff member of youth music education and production facility, Music Resource Center - Cincinnati. There I designed and managed a successful after school recording program for 9 years serving over 2,000 area teens and producing 100's of commercial quality singles, mixtapes, and albums. The role molded me into a producer and engineer with great patience and understanding.

When you hire an engineer for your project you're not just hiring expensive gear. You're hiring experience and personality that will handle your project with care and respect.

I'm on your side to offer a friendly and personable helping hand. The last thing this industry needs is another condescending grump!

Getting Personal

Often my clients become long term working relationships. I figure it doesn’t hurts to know a bit more about the man behind the digital communication and emails.
